Before you order.
What to know about your selection, your lab visit, and the steps in between.
Can I order right now?
Ordering is coming soon. You can compare panels and build your cart now. Payment will open after pricing, clinical review, and the consent forms are approved.
How does the cart work?
Add a panel, its upgrades and any single tests. No account is needed to build a cart. At checkout you choose where to get drawn, confirm your email with a 6-digit code, add the patient’s details and accept the consent forms, all on one page. You can remove anything before payment. Each cart is for one adult patient and one laboratory. Some panels share tests; any overlap is shown before you pay.
Do I need a membership?
No. Panels are offered as a one-time purchase, with no membership.
Is a physician involved?
Orders are routed for independent physician review. The clinician may request more information or decline testing. Wait for the requisition before visiting the laboratory.
Where is testing available?
Enter your ZIP to see the participating laboratories near you. Depending on your area that may be Quest Diagnostics, Labcorp or BioReference. CalaDX does not currently accept orders in Hawaii or Rhode Island.
Why do prices vary by location?
Laboratories charge different rates by state and by network. Your price reflects the laboratory and collection site you choose, and it is confirmed before payment. Where more than one laboratory serves your area, you can compare them.
Can I use insurance?
CalaDX is a self-pay service and does not bill insurance directly. Check any reimbursement questions with your insurer or plan administrator before purchasing.
Can I order for someone else?
This cart is for the signed-in adult patient. CalaDX currently requires patients to be at least 18 years old.
Do I need an appointment?
Check the selected laboratory’s hours, availability, and appointment instructions. Choosing a location in CalaDX does not reserve a visit. Bring your requisition and the identification requested by your laboratory.
How should I prepare?
Follow the specific preparation and fasting instructions from your laboratory and ordering clinician. Contact them before your visit if any instruction is unclear.
When and where will I see my results?
Timing depends on the tests and laboratory. Sign in to My Orders to access available results and PDF reports. Partial results may appear before every test is complete.
What do the consent forms cover?
The Telehealth consent form describes remote clinical review. HIPAA Consent addresses the proposed use and disclosure of information for your order. Both drafts are available to read before checkout, and both require approval before payment opens.
Who can help me understand my report?
Share your available report with your clinician for interpretation in the context of your medical history. CalaDX’s account view displays laboratory-reported information and does not replace clinical advice.
